Five injured in shooting in Los Angeles as residents warned ‘critical incident – shelter in place’

A serious shooting incident is ongoing in Azusa, Los Angeles, amid tight security due to the American election.

Five people have been injured in a shooting in Los Angeles.

Police in Azusa have warned: “Critical Incident: Please stay out of the area of Fourth St & Orange Ave. All residents in the area shelter in place.”

The force later added: “All personnel are tied up with the critical incident. Please refrain from calling our dispatch center, all updates will be posted here”

The local fire department have confirmed five people have been taken to hospital after the incident which began shortly after 2pm local time.

Pictures from the scene show three large canvases over the road and a SWAT team appears to be in position.

Two nearby schools are reportedly on lockdown.

It comes as American security services are on high alert due to the ongoing elections.


There is no indiciation at this point that the incident is terror-related.

Islamic extremists have warned of an attack on Election Day.
