Star Wars Episode VIII Finally Got The Official Title: STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI

The much anticipated next film in the ‘Star Wars’ saga finally has a name, and it is going to be called ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’. The film will start off from where ‘The Force Awakens’ ended. Unlike Episode VII, which had its first trailer debut over a year before release, no trailer for “The Last Jedi” has surfaced yet.

This will be the second to last movie in the hallowed series that started with the release of ‘Star Wars: A New Hope’ 40 years ago, in 1977. The original trio was followed by three prequels. The current sequel trilogy, which is set 30 years after the end of the original trilogy, began with the release of ‘The Force Awakens’.
‘The Last Jedi’ is written and directed by Rian Johnson and produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman. The movie will also feature the late Carrie Fisher in a notable appearance. Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, and Oscar Issac will be reprising their roles from the last film as well.

STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI is scheduled for release December 15, 2017.
